Wrinkles
Mirror, shock
Where did all those
Wrinkles come from
A life well spend
Laughter, sorrow
Anger and joy
The web of life
Spun on a face
Tracings of my life

I could not tell you how I felt
On that summer’s day
We had such a short time together
Before you went away
What if rings in my mind
Why did I hesitate?
Now it is too late
I took too long to tell you
I loved you with all my heart

Let’s call this meeting to order
The Teacup Poet’s Society
Weekly meeting is now in session
Mrs Symthe will now read her poem
“The Suffragette’s Lament”
She had read all about the movement
And decided it would be a good topic
Mrs Johnson-Sniffles enlightened the
Ladies in regards to her lost love
A pug named Daisy
She sniffled through the whole poem
Miss O’Huggins gave a stirring
Rendition of her latest poem
Something dreadfully Irish
We just had to include her of course
They all drank Jasmine tea
Floral cups for the occasion
Waiting with bated breath for
The guest speaker
A very eccentric person
From Finland of all places
A Doctor Lauri, an
Eminent expert on ancient Finnish poems
A very good afternoon was spent by
All especially Mrs Johnson-Sniffles
And her Ode to Daisy
Which of course was well received
Come again to The Teapot Poet’s Society
We meet every Tuesday afternoon
Jasmine tea and crumpets anyone?
