Long ago I started a journey
Seeking illumination of the spirit
To find the divine in everything

The mystic chants, the sublime beauty
Of the waterfall and all creation
Offered a faint glimpse of what could be

I felt the sorrow and joy of many souls
Saw the places of great mystery
And caressed the mind of my beloved

Now I realize that my journey will never end
My quest must carry me ever farther
It will last for all eternity

The path of illumination calls
To seek, to learn, to grow

Following the course of time
As we live our lives

The illumination of the soul
Calls my heart to wander

Searching for enlightenment
On every path I take

Visiting the ages, listening and
Learning from the music  of the mystic

Always searching for that one path
That will lead me home

To my beloved creator

Watch the hourglass of time
As the sands flow counting the
Seconds of each day

We are the sands that flow
Onward hour to hour
Seeing time as our enemy

We try to hold those sands of time
To keep what we have sought
Holding on to lost and forgotten dreams

Watch the hourglass of time
As it is turned in its season
We cannot stop what will be

We can only live  life second by second
