Voices

Voices give song to
Longings, prayers, psalms, hymns
Chants that roll over the void
With majestic beauty
Echoing through the universe

Voices give song to love
In the whispers between the silences
Cries of passion fulfilled
Sobs of lost love that
Fill the emptiness of the heart

Voices give song to a mother’s lullaby
Soothing a crying child
Encouraging dreams, loving words
The grieving mother
The sorrow of the last goodbye

Give voices to humanity
In all its glory and sadness
Until the end of time
