The Garden of Delight
In the garden of delight
Where the blood red roses bloom
Two lovers lay beneath the canopy
With lute, poetry and wine
Take from me my veil
Where the blood red roses bloom
You are my beloved
The possessor of my heart
Stay with me in this place
Until the dawn’s first light
We laid that night beneath the
Moon, with poetry and wine
I awoke in the garden of delight
Where the blood red roses bloom
Alone among the cushions
Without my heart’s delight
Where the lute and poetry once played
Lay the veil and a single blood red rose

‘The Garden of Delight’ is a very sensual writing in its content…the lines flow in a gentle rhythm that enhaces the mysterious quality of this poem…it is sensual…it is mysterious…it is gentle and alluring…it is pleasurable in its nature.
