Lake of Desire

There is a lake where all desires
Come true when you gaze into its depths
What do you desire?

Riches, fame, power, love
Choose and pay the price
It will be high but then you have nothing to lose

Listen to the cries of lost souls searching
For what had been, what they wanted
Had turned to dust, shattered in the face of reality

Watch lovers entwined in a passionless embrace
Seeking forgetfulness in the throes of a dying love
Remembering the true love thrown away for nothing

See the rich, powerful and famous drift in to obscurity
As they wasted all they had, gave way their souls
And gambled their eternal life on nothing

Throw your desires into the lake
See what you will receive
Be careful you could get more than you asked for
