Well of Wishes

Deep in the primeval forest
Stands an ancient well
Covered by the growth of centuries
It is barely seen, lost and forgotten in time
Many beings have come and gone
Leaving their wishes behind

Parting the screen of ages
I gaze into its dark, icy depths
Watching as time scrolls by
The evil cruel shadows lusting
For wealth and ultimate power
The naive innocents crying out for lost souls
Seeking salvation and peace for their minds

I turn and walk away
No dreams, no desires, nothing
To leave at the Well of Wishes

Reading ‘Well of Wishes’ I can see the ancient forest and the ruined well covered with undergrowth…it is of a time long ago and its age has been lost in the centuries…its dark waters reveal the true intent of those who have visited…this is a descriptive writing with a drawing call to the mysterious…this is indeed a poem that stirs my curious intent.
