Fountain
I paused on my journey
To visit a forgotten place
Deep within the ancient town
A courtyard beckoned me
I sat beside the fountain in the
Coolness of the evening
Listening to the wind blow gently
In the soft warm air
I could hear above the gentle sound of
The water as it sang its lullaby
Voices of past, present and future
Cry out in their despair
Yet behind the chaos I heard
A sound, gentle as the wind
A song of hope and peace
For those who would not hear

‘Fountain’ is one of your poems held deep within the embrace of my oftentimes uneasy soul…I read your lines and feel the greatness of a calm that is so rare and not understood…this is indeed a very beautiful writing…when I read the words I can escape for a moment from the chaos of life and fall to the spell of the hope and peace I seek.
