Their Faith in God

High in the Alps I paused above the forgotten village
There was hush; the full moon gleamed in the frosty air
All around the earth and sky shone like crystal
I listened to what I had come so far to hear
Clear, high voices of children rose to the heavens
A song as old as the village, in homage and re-affirmation
To their faith in God
