The Rose
I sat at the table
Gazing at a rose
Black as the night
An end to life
I cried at the thought
Of losing the one who moved
My soul and arose passion
I have never known
I will take the rose tomorrow
And cast it on the ground
I will mourn and weep
From afar, as they carry
My lover to his grave

‘The Rose’ is a captivating poem that sets deep emotion and gentleness as well as great sadness…the one who moved a soul and with great passion has passed…the black rose of death is cast away…unable to be accepted.
