The Walk
Two old comrades
Walked by the lakeshore
On a crisp autumn day
Under the falling leaves
They were remembering
When they were young
And the cause was the
The overpowering thing
In their lives
She had been a courier
And he had been a
Rebel with a cause
Now they were grey
And slowed by age
But their friendship
Had never died
Comrades and friends
To the very end

‘The Walk’ is a beautiful poem that shall always be close to my heart…I think this is your finest writing so far…it celebrates memories of a lovely walk with a friend…I shall always remember that afternoon…thank you Ceol…friends to the very end.
