Back Alley Waste

In the dark alley
Filth, needles, garbage
Surrounded her lifeless body

Only twenty-six, spent with age
She lies there in the debris
Of a wasted life

Too much booze, drugs
Beatings from her pimp
And abusive johns

Her time is over
She is turning into societies’

Back alley waste

‘Back Alley Waste’ is hard-hitting and very true…it is what happens in the tragic and short-lived lives of the women whose lives are spent down on the filthy streets of the skids…this is indeed a poem of social conscience…very well said in your lines.
